Shop Manager

Overview:

Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking a Shop Manager in Elwood, KS to join our team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position. Maintain fleet operations for equipment across North America. Oversee maintenance of Railroad and Asphalt equipment. Inventory/Purchasing for various divisions of Herzog. Issue purchase orders as well as find and coordinate repair shops as needed. Process billing/time to accounts payable. Responsible for coordinating daily tasks along with shop procedures/protocol. Ensure work is performed safely and on time. Ability to motivate and develop employees. Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog's Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position. Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous maintenance/shop experience. Must possess the ability to be flexible and adapt to any situation. Experience with Microsoft Excel/able to learn new computer software programs. Strong communication and leadership.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review. Maintain a valid driver's license and endorsements as required per position. Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position. Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described below must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this role. This position will be physically demanding at times. This is a non-exhaustive overview of the physical requirements of this job. Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces. Must be able to walk up and down the length property, a total of 600 yards. Must be able to ascend an 8 ft step ladder. Must be able to ascend 24 stairs while carrying up to 30 pounds of equipment in hands. Be able to crouch entire body below a 36-inch space. Must be able to access a space with a width of 24 inches. Grasp or squeeze various equipment and tools requiring forces up to 40 pounds up to 20 times an hour. Must be able to lift a 50 pound bag full of equipment overhead. Must be able to hold up to 40 pounds of equipment overhead for 30 seconds. Required to assume a bent over posture and hold for 60 seconds 20 times per hour. Be able to squat down and stay in that position for 2 minutes. Lift parts weighing up to 100 pounds from ground to chest height and horizontally transfer it 4 feet. Carry a weight of 100 pounds a distance of 10 feet. Must be able to push hydraulic hoses into couplers, using upper body only, requiring 50 pounds of force, up to 10 times an hour. Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position. Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.
