Job Description

Soft As A Grape, a well-known tradition on Cape Cod & official licensee of MLB apparel, was established in 1972. We currently operate 14 retail locations throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Florida and Maine and have over 1000 wholesale accounts nationwide. Our stores specialize in resort wear, comfortable, casual, high quality cotton clothing for men, women & kids. The clothes, you'll want to live in! We are looking for A Store Manager on Martha's Vineyard , who will be responsible for driving business results, developing talent and ensure delivery of excellence in service.
Store Manager Position Purpose:
Drives business results, develops talent and ensures delivery of excellence in service.
Responsibilities:
Recruiting & Developing:
Responsible for hiring & training associates in a timely manner Conducting reference checks Complete all on-boarding paperwork and requirements Ability to be objective and communicate performance opportunities and challenges. Ability to execute on the company's disciplinary action plan, should corrective action be needed
Sales:
Develop, model and nurture a customer service culture focusing on servicing their needs and providing a positive customer experience through positive interaction and providing extensive product knowledge Create and maintain a routine that enhances the overall customer shopping satisfaction; incorporating all facets of the store appearance and efficiencies; accuracy of ticketing & sizing, cleanliness, attractive displays, executing proper promotional signage, ease of movement throughout the store and register efficiency Ensure team is focused on priorities of the business and people to maximize sales results Ensure the store is merchandised to standard Responsible for addressing sell-thru to maximize floor productivity
Human Resources:
Ensure all training is accomplished and maximized through smart planning and following the company directives Ensure all stores are meeting/following required employment laws
Operations:
Ensure Cash report sales budget is planned monthly, and reporting is accurate and submitted daily Ensure all cash is deposited daily and bank deposit log is being completed Ensure all company policies and procedures are being followed Ensure payroll spending is within budget and payroll costs are being controlled as business changes to maximize bottom line results Effectively writing store staffing schedules at least two weeks in advance
Loss Prevention:
Ensures Loss Prevention awareness and controls are being discussed and developed to continue supporting company profitability Ensure merchandise handling procedures are trained and adhered to Responsible for inventory accuracy and controlling shrink; conducting periodic inventory cycle counts and annual inventory process Protect company assets from theft, damage and neglect and resolve the best solution to product damage that will maximize the cost recovery
Requirements:
Store management experience; Proven leadership skills with the ability to achieve sales and develop & motivate employees Established time management, organizational skills and communication skills Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively to achieve goals In peak season: 6-day work weeks may be required, Black out days
  • Memorial Day Weekend, July 4th, Labor Day Weekend, Columbus Day, Black Friday weekend; Black out weeks
  • vacation weeks may not be taken during the following times: Memorial Day
  • Columbus Day, Christmas Week Ability to read and follow instructions Need to be able to lift up to 35lbs Comfortable climbing a ladder
Manager Salary:
Full time, 5 days/week minimum, 40hrs, open availability to include days, nights, weekends & holidays. We offer a competitive salary.
