Coffee/Gelato Shop Lead / Assistant Manager

We are an independent coffee and gelato shop focused on high quality products, consistency, and creating a strong customer experience. We are growing and looking for a reliable, hands on Lead who can help support daily operations and strengthen how the shop runs. This is a leadership role for someone who wants more responsibility than a typical barista position and is ready to help support a small business environment. Overview We are hiring a Coffee and Gelato Shop Lead / Assistant Manager to help run daily operations in the café and gelato shop. This role includes both hands on service and shift leadership, working closely with ownership to maintain quality, support staff, and improve workflow and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Support daily coffee and gelato shop operations Lead shifts and support staff during service Prepare quality espresso drinks and gelato service support Maintain consistent product quality and customer experience Assist with inventory, ordering, and reducing waste Help improve workflow, speed of service, and organization Handle opening and closing duties Support cash handling and POS accuracy Train and support new team members Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards What We're Looking For 2+ years experience in a coffee shop, café, or similar environment Strong barista skills Previous shift lead or supervisory experience preferred Reliable, organized, and able to multitask Strong communication and team mindset Calm under pressure and detail oriented Interest in growing into a stronger leadership role Bonus Skills (Not Required) Experience with gelato Inventory, ordering, or cost control experience Interest in improving systems and efficiency Social media or customer engagement experience
