Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Produce Manager and Assistant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our produce department. This role involves managing inventory, supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of quality and freshness. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, retail management experience, and a comprehensive understanding of produce merchandising, purchasing, and inventory control. This position offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team while supporting the store's overall success and growth. Duties Supervise daily produce department operations, including stocking, merchandising, and quality control to ensure freshness and presentation standards are met. Manage inventory levels through effective ordering, purchasing, and stock rotation to minimize waste and optimize sales. Lead hiring, training, and development of staff members to foster a knowledgeable and motivated team. Oversee employee scheduling, and performance evaluations. Implement pricing strategies and promotional displays to maximize sales and enhance customer experience. Maintain accurate bookkeeping records related to department expenses, sales, and inventory management. Handle customer inquiries with professionalism via phone or in-person, ensuring exceptional service. Utilize POS systems for transactions such as cashiering, sales processing, and inventory tracking. Monitor department budgets and assist with store management tasks including shift management and sales management. Conduct regular store inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and cleanliness regulations. Collaborate with marketing teams for promotional campaigns focused on produce offerings. Experience Proven management experience within a grocery store or retail environment, preferably in produce or perishable goods departments. Demonstrated supervisory skills with a track record of leading teams effectively. Strong knowledge of inventory management techniques, retail math, pricing strategies, and merchandising principles. Experience in recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, training & development. Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling procedures, bookkeeping software, and retail management tools. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases. Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage time efficiently while handling multiple responsibilities. Familiarity with budgeting processes, payroll administration, and store operations is highly desirable. This position offers an engaging environment where leadership meets operational excellence. Pay:
$17.36 - $33.12 per hour
