Job Description

Grain Train Natural Foods Markets' Boyne City store is looking for a Store Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our second, smaller location that's growing in sales and has a loyal customer base. Located 15 miles south of Grain Train's administrative offices and storefront in Petoskey, Boyne City is a small but mighty community with a heavy year-round tourism component. There is a strong farmer's market, a charming downtown, and outdoor recreation for all interests. Grain Train's Boyne City store has shown strong growth this year and there is great potential for plenty more. The Store Manager has an exciting opportunity to grow the Grain Train's impact on the Boyne City community while championing the Cooperative Business Model, natural, organic, and local foods, and growing participation in the Grain Train's overall Ends. The successful Store Manager has leadership skills, is able to develop staff, and wishes to work closely with senior leadership in the Petoskey offices. This position requires an eye for merchandising, an understanding of margin and labor goals, and a desire to grow the store in a sustainable and profitable manner. With a talented and dedicated team in place and annual sales just over $1.2 million, this is an opportunity for an experienced and cooperative-minded leader to take over and grow the Co-ops impact in Boyne City even more. The wage for this position begins at $25.00 per hour and can be negotiated upward depending upon experience. Grain Train offers health insurance with a significant portion covered by the Co-op, an IRA match, 25% staff discount on most items, paid professional development, and other benefits. This is a year-round position. Some travel to the Petoskey offices is required. The full job description can be found here. Please submit a resume and cover letter along with your application. This position will remain open until filled with applicants receiving interviews on a first-come, first-served basis.
