The Salvation Army Family Thrift Store & Donation Center Assistant Store Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW
As the Assistant Store Manager, you'll lead operations alongside a dedicated team. You'll engage with customers and donors, support recycling efforts, and build lasting connections within the community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and schedule store team members Provide outstanding guest service (phone, in-person, and email) Perform daily floor walks to monitor stock, pricing, and presentation Ensure cleanliness and organization throughout the store Track progress toward daily and monthly targets Oversee donation intake, product rotation, and visual merchandising Conduct training and provide support to both employees and work therapy beneficiaries Communicate with warehouse and administrative teams Comply with all safety, operations, and HR policies
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent communication and customer service skills Retail experience and leadership abilities Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 50-100 lbs Basic computer and POS skills Detail-oriented and reliable Ability to follow and uphold Salvation Army policies and procedures This is a full-time position that requires availability on days, evenings, and weekends (Monday to Saturday). Work takes place in a store environment that may include noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations.
