Field Supervisor Reports to:
Chief Operations Officer Job Summary:
The Field Supervisor is a leader within the Rockford Ambulance Team who coordinates and monitors daily operational activities of the Field Staff as well as provide support with scheduling, quality improvement / quality assurance, and public relations. Our goal as a leadership team is to support all functions of the Rockford Ambulance Team and to provide the best care for the patients that we serve.

Field Staff & Personnel Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Routinely monitors and inspects the condition of all equipment, stations, personnel, schedules, and PCR's to ensure adherence to Rockford Ambulance Policies and Procedures. 2. Assumes initial operational control in situations and incidents involving patients, team members or vehicles and reports to the COO when necessary. 3. Assists with and coordinates when appropriate, the repair of all company equipment, including vehicles, to ensure no disruption of service. 4. Communicates effectively and tactfully with all staff regarding operational policies and procedures as well as updates within the system. 5. Responsible for promoting and maintaining a positive work environment. 6. Provides guidance and assistance to team members in the performance of their duties and recommends and assists with training. 7. Ensure that personnel adhere to the safe operations of all vehicles and equipment by following current safety standards. 8. Participates in investigations and may conduct initial disciplinary action or performance improvement plans (PIPs) with personnel. 9. Must be available for recall 24 hours a day during on-call shifts. 10. Must be flexible with work schedules to meet the requirements of the system needs and team members. 11. Executes processes of Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance through the most up to date QA/QI Program. 12. Assists with the collection of ePCR's and other paperwork within the company. 13. Participates and provides feedback in the development of policies and procedures for team members. 14. Maintain a close working relationship with Fire Chiefs, Law Enforcement, facility administrators, nursing staff, and other community members. 15. Represents, in a positive manner, the integrity and philosophy of all organizational policies and/or decisions as determined by the Board of Directors, Officers of Rockford Ambulance, at all times when in the presence of subordinates or the public. 16. Adheres to the Paramedic job description. 17. Other duties as assigned by the COO. Strong supervisory and leadership skills 8. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office or related software.
Education and Experience:
1. Possession of a valid State of Michigan paramedic license required. 2. BLS, ACLS, PALS and
ITLS/PHTLS
certifications required. 3. Minimum of three years' experience in Emergency Medical Services preferred. 4. Must possess a valid Michigan Driver's License with chauffeur's required 5. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
1. Must be available for recall 24 hours a day during on-call shifts. 2. Must be flexible with work schedules to meet the requirements of the system needs and team members. 3. Must be able to respond quickly to ambulance calls, personnel incidents, operational needs, etc. 4. Must be able to perform strenuous activities, including but not limited to climbing, stairs, lifting (up to 100 pounds), moving heavy equipment, water rescues, etc. over difficult terrain, dangerous environments, and/or inclement weather 5. Must be able to safely operate emergency vehicles 6. Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, driving, lifting etc. The physical demands described here are representative of those that be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
