Duties Lead daily store operations, including supervising staff, managing schedules, and ensuring smooth shift transitions. Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, purchasing decisions, and inventory control to minimize shrinkage. Recruit, interview, train, and develop team members to foster a motivated and skilled workforce. Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, and cash handling procedures with accuracy and integrity. Implement pricing strategies and manage POS (Point of Sale) systems to ensure efficient checkout experiences. Maintain excellent customer service standards by addressing customer inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring a welcoming store environment. Conduct regular store inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and cleanliness standards. Manage store budgets, sales reports, and financial records to meet business objectives. Coordinate marketing efforts and promotional events to increase store visibility and community engagement. Qualifications Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervisory responsibilities. Strong skills in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, and training & development. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable for effective communication with diverse customers and staff. Experience with inventory management systems, POS technology, cash handling, and retail math is essential. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities efficiently. Excellent communication skills coupled with organizational skills for effective store oversight. Knowledge of grocery store operations including purchasing, merchandising, pricing strategies, and stock control. Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial recordkeeping such as bookkeeping and payroll administration. Previous assistant manager or shift supervisor experience is preferred to ensure a smooth transition into the general manager role.
