Full-Time Job Overview Enson Market is seeking a dependable and experienced Produce Department Supervisor to lead the produce section of our new Burnsville, MN location. This role is critical in maintaining the freshness, presentation, and availability of fruits and vegetables while supervising team members and ensuring a clean, organized department. The ideal candidate is passionate about fresh food, has strong attention to detail, and can lead a team in a fast-paced retail environment. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily operations of the produce department, including receiving, stocking, rotation, and merchandising of all produce items. Train and manage produce clerks, schedule shifts, assign tasks, and ensure adherence to store policies and food safety procedures. Monitor product freshness and quality; ensure expired, damaged, or poor-quality items are promptly removed. Maintain a clean and organized department, including regular sanitation of display cases, prep areas, and storage coolers. Manage inventory levels, order produce through approved suppliers, and control shrink and spoilage. Ensure accurate pricing and signage of all items in accordance with company standards. Assist customers with questions and requests, including product information, recommendations, or special orders. Collaborate with store leadership to support store goals and ensure smooth operations across departments. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements as mandated by state and federal law. Perform additional duties as needed in support of the store's success. Qualifications At least 2 years of produce department or grocery store experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or lead role. Strong knowledge of fresh produce handling, storage, and merchandising best practices. Ability to lead and motivate team members in a retail environment. Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) preferred or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire (per Minnesota regulations). Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in cool, damp environments for extended periods. Flexible availability including weekends and holidays.
