Job Description

Job Overview The Assistant Taproom Manager keeps the taproom dialed in and intentional. On the floor, in the community, and in the details. Working closely with the Taproom General Manager, this role owns the guest experience, taproom marketing and events, inventory, and facilities. You plan it, you execute it, you make it known. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who shows up with curiosity, takes pride in representing the Northland, works hard, and genuinely cares about doing right by the team and the community. Core Responsibilities 1. Event Promotion, Coordination & Execution Own the promotion and execution of all taproom events, including recurring weekly programming and special events Coordinate logistics for private event bookings, ensuring a high standard of service from inquiry through execution. Partner with the Taproom GM on new event concepts, launch planning, and post-event audits Ensure events are well-promoted across all relevant channels, with clear internal communication to staff Be the on-the-ground lead for event setup, execution, and breakdown 2. Taproom Marketing & Social Media Manage Ursa Minor Brewing's social media presence across relevant platforms Create and post engaging content that reflects the brand, drives taproom traffic, and highlights events, beer releases, and team culture Collaborate with leadership on campaign timing and brand alignment Monitor engagement and respond to guest interactions online in a timely, on-brand, manner Capture in-taproom content (photos, video) to support ongoing content needs 3. Website Maintenance Keep the Ursa Minor website current with accurate taproom hours, event listings, available merch, seasonal updates, and beer menus Flag and address outdated content promptly; coordinate with leadership on larger updates or redesign needs Ensure website information is consistent with what's being communicated across social and in-taproom channels 4. Daily Floor Leadership Serve as the primary floor leader on assigned shifts, setting the tone for service, hospitality, and team morale Position staff across bar and kitchen based on the needs of each shift Model excellent service standards and hold crewmembers accountable to those standards in real time Partner with the Taproom GM on progressive discipline for staff Be personally connected with part-time staff and serve as an accessible, consistent point of contact Fill in on the floor when needed. This role leads by doing 5. Inventory & Orders Manage daily and weekly retail inventory at the taproom, including merchandise and ancillary products Track beverage inventory and complete weekly orders to ensure adequate taproom supply Track food inventory and monitor daily orders to ensure adequate taproom supply Maintain organized, well-merchandised retail and beverage displays with adequate stock at all times Flag inventory discrepancies or concerns to the Taproom GM promptly 6. Building & Maintenance Maintain the taproom to the highest standards of cleanliness and organization for both guest experience and operational workflow Conduct regular walkthroughs and proactively identify maintenance needs or facility concerns Coordinate with vendors or internal resources to address repairs and upkeep in a timely manner Develop and maintain cleaning and maintenance checklists to ensure consistent standards across all shifts Qualifications Available to work full-time (40+ hrs/week) including some holidays, nights, weekends, and events Prior hospitality, bar, or restaurant experience required; supervisory experience preferred Strong understanding of craft beer and taproom culture Demonstrated experience with social media content creation and community engagement Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills with guests, peers, and leadership Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay composed in a fast-paced environment Positive attitude, team-player mentality, and genuine passion for hospitality Comfort with POS software, Google Workspace, and basic website CMS tools Ability to lift 35-50 lbs; ability to move full kegs with dolly Working Conditions This position involves shift work, evening and weekend hours and the full energy of a busy taproom environment. Comfort working with diverse guests and staff, especially in high-volume situations is essential.
