Field Supervisors also perform clerical, maintenance duties and act as preceptors of EMT and Paramedic students. Also supervisor EMTs and Paramedics indaily routine and pre-hospital care setting. Field Supervisor make operationaldecisions in the absence of Manager-Regional EMS or Supervisor-Operations and instruct EMT and Paramedic on inservice training, education and driving. The incumbent in this position shall carry out his/her responsibilities and integrate into his/get style of management, the MercyPhilosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life, and the dignity of each person, applying Christian values to all crucial human issues inthe area over which he/she has responsibility. Performs related duties as assigned.

Position Details:

Licensure:

Paramedic (EMT-P license for the state of practice, valid drivers license.

Experience:

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.

Certifications/Registration:

Hazmat awarenesslevel training, ACLS at hire, PALS within 6 months of hire/transfer.

Other:

Mayberequired to work differing shifts and schedules. Unimpaired mobility. Must be able to respond quickly to ambulance, must be able to accesspatients in difficult terrain, must be able to climb stairs, must be able to work in close and dangerous environments such as damaged vehicles, must be able with partner to carry equipment and patients. Must be able to perform strenuous physical requirements such as CPR, lifting and moving of equipment and patients in avariety of environmental conditions. Must be able to perform required medical skills and techniques. Must have correctable vision acceptable for day and night operation of emergency vehicles, must have color acuity adequate for determination of skin and blood color, must be able to read medication dosages on drug labels and syringes. Must be able to hear and understand information provided by patients, family or bystanders; must be able to hear breath sounds and accurately determine auscultated blood pressures; must be able to differentiate separate conversations in active, distracting environments; must beable to hear and understand radio traffic when responding with lights and sirens. Must be able to speak and enunciate clearly and at a level audible to others in loud conditions, must be able to speak clearly in stressful situations, must be able to verbally communicate with patients, families and other emergency service personnel. Incumbents will be required to successfully satisfy the physical demands of the role. This will include a pre-hire and annual fitness for duty test.

Equipment Used :

Mobile and portable communications equipment, Monitor/Defibrillator/Pacer, approved stretcher, stair chair, backboard, scoop type device, variety of bags and kits, assigned ambulance, computer, FAX, printer and other office related equipment.

Preferred Education :

Associates Degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Licensure:

TLS Provider Preferred Experience:

Emergency Services or related Leadership experience, 3 years Paramedic experience, teaching experience.

Preferred Certifications/Registration:
