Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Auto Repair Shop Manager to lead our automotive service team with enthusiasm and expertise. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and drive the shop's success through effective management of technicians, parts, and workflow. Your leadership will foster a positive work environment while maintaining high standards of automotive repair quality. The ideal candidate is passionate about cars, possesses strong mechanical knowledge, and has a proven track record in auto service management. Responsibilities Manage daily shop operations, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and ensuring timely completion of repairs. Supervise and motivate technicians, providing guidance on diagnostics, repairs, and customer communication. Oversee vehicle maintenance services such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, alignments, suspension work, tire services, shocks & struts, diesel engine repairs, and auto body repairs. Ensure all repairs meet quality standards and adhere to safety regulations. Handle customer interactions professionally—addressing inquiries, explaining repair needs clearly, and upselling additional services when appropriate. Maintain accurate service writing and auto estimating to ensure proper billing and documentation. Manage parts inventory, ordering supplies as needed to support efficient shop operations. Implement upselling strategies to maximize revenue while delivering value to customers. Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records of all financial activities. Foster a team-oriented environment that encourages continuous improvement and professional development. Skills Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management. Extensive mechanic experience with expertise in automotive diagnostics and repairs across various systems including transmissions, air brakes, alignment, suspension, tire service, diesel engines, shocks & struts, brake systems, and auto body work. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally. Skilled in auto estimating software and service writing processes for accurate job costing. Knowledge of automotive repair procedures combined with mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices. Experience in sales techniques including upselling additional services or parts to enhance customer satisfaction and shop profitability. Ability to handle cash transactions responsibly while maintaining detailed records. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage a team of technicians effectively.
