Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
Retail Support Specialist supports individuals with disabilities by fostering independence, skill development, and community engagement through retail and warehouse-based activities. This role combines traditional retail tasks with job coaching responsibilities and provides support across multiple RISE locations, including the retail store and warehouse. The Retail Support Specialist plays a critical role in mentoring individuals and helping them achieve personal and employment goals.SUPERVISOR

Hourly - Part-TimeMAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Retail & Warehouse Support Greet and assist customers in a courteous and professional manner. Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems to process customer transactions accurately. Stock merchandise and maintain clean, organized sales and storage areas. Accept, sort, and organize donations at the warehouse as needed. Support store upkeep, including interior and exterior cleanliness and organization. Job Coaching & Individual Support Provide one-on-one support and coaching for individuals with disabilities in workplace tasks. Help individuals learn job responsibilities, workplace etiquette, and vocational skills. Encourage creativity, independence, and problem-solving. Adapt coaching methods to match individual needs and support goals. Support personal growth by promoting patience, perseverance, and self-confidence. Multi-Site Collaboration Work at various RISE locations as scheduled, including the retail store and donation warehouse. Demonstrate flexibility in job duties based on location-specific needs. Communication & Documentation Represent RISE in a professional and respectful manner to families, community partners, and agency contacts. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and agency standards. Complete all required documentation and reporting in a timely, accurate, and confidential manner. Report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or concerns immediately to the appropriate supervisor. Teamwork Collaborate with coworkers and other departments to meet shared goals. Treat all individuals, families, and team members with dignity and respect. Foster a positive, inclusive environment aligned with RISE's mission and values. Safety Follow safety procedures in all environments, including proper lifting and use of equipment. Immediately report any unsafe situations or equipment malfunctions. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor to support agency goals and individual success.QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Must be 18 years of age. High School Diploma or GED is required. Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and any subsequent background check after employment. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a Missouri Class E chauffeur's license within 14 days of hire. Successfully complete employment-related training as directed. Flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Patient, compassionate, and supportive approach to working with individuals with disabilities. Basic computer and POS system proficiency. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to be coachable and adaptable in a dynamic work environment.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for prolonged periods. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.BENEFITS
