Job Description

The Front Side Expo / Key Closer is responsible for ensuring every guest receives a correctly prepared, properly presented meal in a timely manner while maintaining clear communication between the kitchen and front-of-house team. During closing shifts, this position is responsible for overseeing front-of-house closing procedures, maintaining cleanliness and organization, supporting the management team, and ensuring the restaurant is guest-ready for the following day. This position is a leadership role that requires urgency, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead by example. This position is designed to lead you into a Salaried role within our company with time. Essential Responsibilities Coordinate the flow of food from the kitchen to the dining room. Verify every plate meets company presentation and quality standards. Ensure ticket accuracy before food leaves the kitchen. Communicate clearly with cooks, servers, bartenders, and managers. Prioritize ticket times while maintaining food quality. Organize tickets to maximize efficiency. Catch missing sides, sauces, garnishes, or modifications before food reaches guests. Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized expo line. Assist in resolving guest issues involving food quality or timing. Key Closing Responsibilities Serve as the front-of-house leader after peak business hours. Complete all assigned closing checklists accurately. Ensure dining room, host stand, beverage stations, and service areas are thoroughly cleaned. Verify all side work has been completed before employees clock out. Ensure all closing cleaning standards are met. Lock and secure designated restaurant areas according to company policy. Communicate maintenance or operational concerns to management. Count and secure applicable equipment or supplies as assigned. Prepare the restaurant for a successful opening shift. Leadership Responsibilities Lead with professionalism and urgency. Coach team members on proper procedures when necessary. Hold teammates accountable to restaurant standards. Promote teamwork between the kitchen and front of house. Maintain a positive attitude during busy periods. Set the pace for service and closing execution. Qualifications Previous restaurant experience required. Previous expo or supervisory experience preferred. Excellent communication skills. Ability to multitask under pressure. Strong organizational skills. Attention to detail. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Performance Expectations Successful Front Side Expo / Key Closers consistently: Deliver accurate tickets with minimal errors. Maintain strong ticket times. Ensure food leaves the kitchen looking exceptional. Prevent guest complaints by catching mistakes before food is served. Complete all closing responsibilities without shortcuts. Leave the restaurant clean, stocked, and ready for the opening team. Demonstrate leadership through accountability, professionalism, and teamwork.
