Retail Store Management - Army Barracks (Conway, NH) Join a legendary retail team with over 40 years of success in New England!
About Us:
Army Barracks is a unique Army/Navy retail store open to the public. We specialize in military surplus, camping, survival, and tactical gear—as well as airsoft guns and accessories. You'll also find an extensive selection of clothing for men, women, and children, plus headwear, boots, gloves, backpacks, knives, swords, and novelty items. We're passionate about creating a fun, memorable shopping experience that customers want to return to—and rave about. About the
Role:
We're looking for a hands-on Management roles to lead our Conway, NH location. As part of our management team, you'll be responsible for driving sales, overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and maximizing store performance. This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused retail environment. This is a retail store that has great store hours. 10am-6pm, 7 days a week. In order to be considered for the position, open availability is required including weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver an outstanding customer experience—greet every customer with enthusiasm, and adapt to individual needs with creativity and professionalism. Drive sales and manage product movement through effective merchandising, ordering, receiving, and inventory control. Foster a positive work environment with strong leadership and clear communication. Hire, train, and motivate team members to meet performance goals. Plan, implement, and oversee all daily operations, including opening and closing procedures. Stay current with seasonal merchandising to continuously improve store appeal and performance. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of retail experience (at least 3 years in a management role). Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Exceptional customer service skills, strong work ethic, and high level of integrity. Ability to lift at least 40 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods(8 hour shift),climb ladders, bend/kneel over to bottom shelves etc Comfortable and capable of safely handling knives and other tactical equipment.
