family of companies, has an opportunity for a Store Manager in Rochester, NH! The Store Manager is responsible for safe, efficient, and profitable store operations, while directing all aspects of the retail business in alignment with company policies and procedures. This is a hands-on leadership role where your ideas are valued, your work has visible impact, and your growth is supported! This position is designed and intended to be performed in Rochester, NH.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Facility Management Maintain a high level of housekeeping across store, warehouse, equipment, vehicles, and grounds Provide a clean, safe environment that reflects a positive company image Ensure all equipment is operational Sales Management Optimize store layout and merchandising to maximize sales and customer flow Align displays with seasonal needs, promotions, and advertising Drive traffic through in-store programs and company promotions Provide ongoing sales training and product knowledge to team members Monitor competitors and adjust pricing strategies as needed Introduce and evaluate new products Inventory Management Order products in accordance with company policies Manage inventory levels to support turnover and profitability Adjust product mix based on performance and demand Maintain pricing and margins aligned with supplier changes Oversee claims for damaged or returned goods Accounting Management Approve invoices and ensure accuracy of goods received Maintain control of daily cash and deposits Support store-level financial accountability
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree with 5 years of retail experience (including 3 years in a supervisory role), or Bachelor's degree with 2 years of retail management experience Proven track record leading and developing small retail teams Agriculture background with management experience and strong merchandising skills preferred Working knowledge of lawn & garden, agriculture, and pet/livestock products Positive, hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop a team Strong customer focus with professionalism and attention to detail Effective communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to multitask and operate in a fast-paced environment
