Summary :
The Manager of Equipment Administration is responsible for overseeing the management and administration of equipment within an organization. This includes coordinating the procurement, maintenance, and disposal of equipment, as well as managing equipment inventory and tracking. The Manager of Equipment Administration may also be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures related to equipment usage, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards. Additionally, they may oversee a team of equipment administrators and collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient equipment utilization and cost-effective operations.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Coordinates and monitors Capital Programs for the Mechanical Department to ensure that

takes full advantage of capital funding. Manages staff in the compilation and administration of Rail Mechanical Employee Personnel Data. Acts as liaison for Mechanical Department in handling various matters with Human Resources, Safety, Labor Relations, Operations Control, Claims, Risk Management, Fixed Assets, Medical Services, Finance, Information Services, etc., to ensure necessary resources are in place for optimization of production, budget, quality, safety, morale and employee development. Oversees the development and preparation of the Rail Mechanical Department operating budget and five (5) year Capital Program and project documentation, including application for capital funding. Manages staff in the preparation of mandatory Rail, Federal and State reports and information to ensure continued Federal and State funding. Ensures Rail Mechanical Project Managers maintain accurate data on project planning, scheduling, expense and control. Manages the assembly and submission of periodic status reports, vendor communications, board items, justifications, etc. Manages staff in the coordination of activities with Purchasing and Materials Management to ensure maximum availability of Rail rolling stock replacement parts and minimization of sole source purchases. Tracks major overruns/abnormal usage. Investigates, processes and follows-up on all E-Requisitions and E-Check requisitions, as well as MDR's for equipment and material disposal submitted by the Mechanical Department. Oversees Procurement Card charges; logs and ensures timely receipt of material invoices for vendor payments. Manages staff for all Rail Mechanical Departments for proper monitoring of department vacancies in coordination with long-term employees to ensure positions are filled within budget/headcount, including craft specific classes being scheduled and offers of positions to qualified candidates.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or mechanical engineering, or related area, or equivalent Six (6) years of applied experience in a mechanical department in a passenger/commuter railroad.
