Supervise daily activities of vehicle repair and maintenance operation to ensure proper performance and safety of all commercial vehicles and equipment. Manage and direct fleet maintenance technicians in a union environment. Manage and maintain physical safety standard in our NJ truck shop. Identify cost-saving opportunities throughout the fleet maintenance function. Assist with and support implementation of a fleet maintenance software suite.Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Proficiency in diesel trucks, auto restoration, truck repair, and vehicle maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to oversee repairs and troubleshoot issues.
- Experience in heavy duty truck repair, utilizing power tools and hand tools effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required in an automotive setting.
- Ability to direct and supervise personnel and coordinate shop operations.
- Knowledge of the mobile technician work environment and challenges, maintenance practices, and process requirements for mobile maintenance.
- Ability to train and develop mechanics and maintenance personnel.
- Ability to act with a sense of urgency.
- Computer literacy - Maintenance software, MS Excel, and Outlook.
- Heavy email use - Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members and senior management is a must.
