Full-time Introduction:
Bubany is a long-standing, locally owned building supply and hardware store located in Gallup, New Mexico. Serving Gallup and the surrounding region since 1929, Bubany is a trusted source for quality lumber, building materials, and home improvement supplies that caters to both professional contractors and do-it-yourself customers.
Role Overview:
The Lead Store Associate is a working lead position supporting daily operations across the yard, warehouse, and sales floor to ensure smooth workflow and a positive customer experience. This position works closely with the Location Manager to coordinate team workflow, maintain organized inventory, and uphold safety and service standards. The Lead Store Associate serves as a point of support for team members and helps guide daily priorities.
Education & Experience Requirements:

Driver's License Required:
High School or equivalent Basic knowledge of lumber, plywood, and building materials Previous team lead experience in retail, operations, or building supply environment.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Support daily operations across sales, yard, and warehouse to ensure efficiency and organization. Assist with sales support functions, including quotes, transactions, and invoicing. Assist with receiving and inspecting incoming deliveries for accuracy, quality and damage. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor and yard. Support inventory processes, including receiving, cycle counts, and stock organization. Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with product selection and basic problem solving. Help monitor equipment and facility conditions, reporting maintenance needs to location manager. Act as a resource for team members, helping answer questions and guide daily tasks. Step in to support daily operations in the absence of location manager as needed. Safe work practices and use of personal protective equipment. Clear communication and foster a cohesive and collaborative work culture. Exceptional customer service by maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, acknowledging all customers promptly. Protects the company's value by keeping proprietary information confidential. Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Performs additional duties as assigned by management

Supports daily team coordination with delegating tasks, monitoring workflow, and reinforcing company policies and safety standards. Partners with Location Manager on team performance but does not have primary responsibility for hiring or disciplinary decisions, or formal performance management.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This role requires frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching (including above shoulder level), gripping, and carrying. Employees must be able to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and manipulate objects, as well as perform keyboarding tasks. Climbing stairs is required. The position requires the ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. Work conditions may include exposure to dust and extreme weather conditions. The employee must have adequate visual acuity, including near and far vision and depth perception, to safely perform job duties. Work Hours and Environment:
This is a full-time position requiring availability Tuesday through Friday, 8:00AM
  • 5:00PM and Saturdays, 8:00AM-2:00PM.
The work environment is a dynamic retail setting with continuous customer interaction.
Rate of Pay:
$17
  • 18/hr Employment with Gallup Welder Supply is on an at-will basis.
