COMMUNITY ACTION ORGANIZATION OF WESTERN NEW YORK INC
Buffalo, NY Job Details $42,000 - $45,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Driver's License Supervising experience Typing Data collection Associate's degree Full Job Description This position is responsible for the overall management and operation of the community center. This role ensures that residents of all ages can apply for our organization's programs and services at the site. This role also ensures that the community has access to meeting rooms, computer labs, and structured recreational activities in the gymnasium.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Primary Responsibilities:
Implement the Community Engagement Department's operational policies and procedures. Oversee the administrative processes of the Community Engagement activities and programs. Creates awareness for the community members of our programs and services and directs them in applying for programs and services. Assists the Director of Community Engagement in assuring the uniform policies and procedures are administered at all four community centers. Oversee operations, Community Engagement staff, volunteers, maintenance of facility and recordkeeping for the community center. Supervise client data collection process, program reports, budgets, work plans and narratives for the Community Engagement Department activities and programs. Supervise the accuracy of client intake information and updates information regularly in web-based reporting system. Assists the Director of Community Engagement with completed request for proposals (RFP's) issued by government agencies.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Must present a professional image in conduct, attitude, and attire. Satisfactory completion of mandatory trainings. Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Associates degree in Community Development, Social Work or related field. Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in Community Development, Social Work, or related field. One (1) to two (2) years' experience in supervision. Grant writing and budget management experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong commitment in maintaining confidentiality. Passion for working for a non-profit social services agency. Basic understanding of budget management. Strong organization skills and multitasking abilities. Must be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and situations. Must be able to foster a safe and inclusive environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to collaborate with community members and stakeholders. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Must have transportation to travel to our other locations. Must be able to work beyond normal working hours, some evenings and weekends.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand, sit, and walk. Must be able to read, write routine reports, and speak effectively with a diverse community. Must have hand, finger coordination to type and be able to reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds.
