Job Overview Join our dynamic retail team as a Retail Meat Department Manager, where you will lead and oversee all aspects of the meat department to ensure exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and profitable growth. As a key member of our management team, you will drive sales, manage inventory, and motivate staff to deliver outstanding retail experiences. Duties Lead daily operations of the meat department, ensuring high standards of product quality, freshness, and presentation. Manage inventory control, including purchasing, stock rotation, and shrink reduction to maximize profitability. Supervise and train team members on customer service excellence, safety procedures, and product knowledge to foster a motivated and skilled workforce. Oversee merchandising strategies and store layout to optimize sales opportunities and enhance visual appeal. Implement pricing strategies and promotional campaigns to boost sales and meet departmental goals. Ensure compliance with health regulations, safety standards, and store policies at all times. Requirements Proven management experience in retail food or grocery store environments with supervisory responsibilities. Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, POS (Point of Sale) technology, and retail math principles. Excellent communication skills. Ability to lead teams effectively through shift management while maintaining high levels of customer service. Familiarity with merchandising techniques, marketing strategies, and store presentation standards. Organizational skills with attention to detail in stock control, pricing accuracy, and administrative tasks such as phone etiquette and record keeping.
