Job Description

Description:
The Removables Department Manager is responsible for leading the production, quality, and development of BonaDent's Removables team. This leader oversees the manufacturing of removable products including complete dentures, partials, relines, repairs, and related appliances, while ensuring production is on schedule, within quality standards, and aligned to cost objectives. This is not a general operations leadership role . We are seeking a manager with extensive, hands-on experience in removable dental laboratory workflows and a demonstrated ability to lead technicians in a high-quality, fast-paced removables environment. The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge of removables, credibility with technicians, and the ability to drive accountability, consistency, training, and performance. To be considered, candidates must have significant direct experience working in Removables . Candidates without substantial removable dental laboratory experience will not be considered for this position. This individual must be a strong leader and culture add who can unify people around one goal: delivering high-quality removable restorations that meet BonaDent standards and customer expectations.
Requirements:
Specific Responsibilities and Duties:
Leadership and People Development:
Lead the Removables team and build a strong, collaborative department culture. Manage team performance, including coaching, goal setting, accountability, and performance evaluations. Conduct weekly standup meetings to reinforce BonaDent's goals, vision, and mission while aligning the team to department priorities. Partner regularly with the Director of Operations and collaborate closely with CAD, Models, Fixed, Implants, and Shipping to ensure smooth workflow and service levels. Attend weekly Operations Leadership L10 meetings to review metrics, report on department performance, and solve operational issues. Identify skill gaps and development opportunities within the team and partner with Training to execute targeted training plans. Identify hiring needs, partner with HR on recruiting, and actively participate in the interview and selection process. Ensure all department safety protocols, equipment procedures, and safe work practices are consistently followed.
Production Management and Quality Control:
Ensure standard operating procedures are clearly defined, implemented, and followed consistently across all removables workflows. Oversee daily department workflow to support productivity, quality, and on-time delivery. Ensure work is completed right the first time and actively reduce internal and external remakes. Ensure quality control is performed at all critical stages of fabrication in alignment with BonaDent standards and QC checkpoints. Review complex and high-risk cases with technicians before work begins to reduce avoidable issues and improve outcomes. Provide regular, direct feedback to technicians on production, craftsmanship, quality, and adherence to process. Ensure prescriptions, doctor preferences, and case-specific requirements are consistently followed. Removables Technical Expertise (Player-Coach): Bring extensive, hands-on technical experience in removable dental laboratory work and the ability to lead from a position of subject matter expertise. Maintain strong working knowledge across all key areas of Removables, including setup, waxing, processing, finishing, repairs, relines, complete dentures, partials, and specialty cases. Troubleshoot occlusion, esthetics, fit, and function issues and support technicians in resolving complex case challenges. Serve as a technical resource and coach for the team, helping improve quality, consistency, and technician capability. Partner with CAD/CAM teams to support digital removables workflows where applicable, including scan inputs, printed components, and case readiness.
Supplies/Inventory:
Assist in managing inventory within the department. Monitor supply usage, waste, and cost-saving opportunities. Ensure materials and department supplies are ordered appropriately and on time.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Extensive removable dental laboratory experience is required Candidates must have substantial, hands-on experience producing removable restorations such as complete dentures, partials, relines, repairs, setups, waxing, processing, and finishing Prior experience leading, coaching, or supervising technicians in a removables environment is strongly preferred Strong knowledge of removable materials, workflows, and quality standards Ability to clearly define expectations and hold team members accountable Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to teach and coach effectively Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration Positive attitude and professional presence Ability to build strong working relationships with internal partners and customers Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment with the ability to organize and multitask Strong visual perception, manual dexterity, and attention to detail Must follow standards of conduct as outlined in the employee handbook Must comply with all safety procedures Reliable and dependable attendance and work habits •Applicants without deep removable dental laboratory experience will not be considered •
