Job Description

Shop Manager - Warner Mechanical Corporation Position Summary The Shop Manager plays a key role in supporting field operations and ensuring shop efficiency at Warner Mechanical. This position oversees all daily shop activities, including inventory management, material handling, team coordination, and equipment upkeep. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, proactive team player who takes initiative, maintains a clean and organized workspace, and supports operational success through timely material deliveries and smooth shop flow. Key Responsibilities Shop Operations & Safety Oversee day-to-day shop operations to ensure a clean, safe, organized, and efficient environment. Maintain compliance with company and OSHA safety guidelines. Coordinate closely with Operations to support jobsite needs and meet project timelines. Maintain and service shop equipment and tools. Material Handling & Inventory Receive, unload, restock, and organize materials, supplies, and equipment. Load and deliver materials safely and efficiently to job sites as needed. Ensure accurate inventory levels through regular counts and monitoring. Maintain and update tool and equipment inventory logs, including check-in/check-out tracking. Create and maintain logs for incoming/outgoing shipments and materials. Staff Leadership & Team Support Train, schedule, and supervise shop staff and delivery drivers. Encourage an active, team‑first shop culture—jumping in, helping others, and "doing" rather than observing. Ensure staff follow proper safety procedures and company policies. Assist and direct delivery drivers, ensuring timely, accurate deliveries. Logistics & Coordination Coordinate with Project Managers, Operations, and field crews to meet material and tool needs. Report daily shipments and material flow to management, operations, and sales teams. Oversee local vehicle maintenance and repair activities. Additional Responsibilities Assist with special tasks, projects, or overtime needs as required. Support the shop and field teams with a flexible, can-do attitude. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and follow through without constant supervision. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Basic math and computer skills (Excel, inventory software, etc.). Prior knowledge of HVAC parts preferred (a strong asset). Forklift operation required (certification can be assisted upon hire). Ability to manually lift, pull, and push materials up to 50 lbs. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (MVR).
