Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Shop Manager to oversee our automotive repair shop. The Shop Manager will be responsible for managing daily operations, coordinating workflow, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent customer service skills.Duties:
- Manage and supervise a team of mechanics and technicians
- Coordinate and prioritize workflow to ensure efficient operations
- Oversee the repair and maintenance of vehicles, including auto restoration, auto glass replacement, sheet metal work, and mechanical repairs
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets industry standards
- Provide accurate estimates for repairs and communicate with customers regarding pricing and timelines
- Order parts and maintain inventory levels
- Monitor shop performance and implement strategies to improve productivity and profitability
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Shop Manager or similar role in an automotive repair shop or dealership
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes, including welding, heavy lifting, auto estimating, and the use of power tools
- Experience in auto restoration is highly desirable
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members
- Proven leadership abilities with the capability to motivate and mentor a team
