Are you a motivated leader with a passion for retail and customer service? Kennie's Markets is seeking a Grocery Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Grocery Department. This role is accountable for the department's profit and loss (P&L) and requires strong leadership, merchandising expertise, and sound business decision-making. As Grocery Manager, you'll ensure customers receive top-quality products and an exceptional shopping experience every time they visit. As the floating manager you will travel between all 5 stores regularly.

Yes Key Responsibilities:

Achieve departmental goals in sales and gross profit. Manage supply, payroll, inventory, and waste to maintain profitability. Follow proper accounting procedures, including invoices, transfers, and inventory tracking. Order products in sufficient quantities, ensure correct pricing, and maintain quality/freshness through proper rotation. Oversee product stocking, display, and rotation to maximize visual appeal, including seasonal, sale, and high-demand items. Collaborate with the Store Manager and Grocery Specialist on merchandising, planning, scheduling, sales trends, and process improvements. Maintain a clean and sanitary department on the sales floor, in cases/coolers, and backroom areas. Ensure all Grocery Department employees follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards. Oversee proper maintenance and care of all department equipment. Support store-wide promotions and collaborate with other departments as needed. Perform additional duties as directed by the Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervise 4-8 Grocery Department employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in line with company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required; 2-4 years of related experience and/or training preferred. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with customers, employees, and management. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Basic math skills including calculating discounts, percentages, and inventory figures. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt in situations with limited standardization.
