!!! Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Weekend Supervisor to oversee clinical operations during 6:45am-7:15pm. This part-time leadership role is vital in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and supervising nursing staff. The ideal candidate will possess extensive nursing experience across various settings, including acute care, long-term care, and hospital environments, with demonstrated supervisory capabilities. This position offers an opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team while fostering a safe, efficient, and compassionate care environment. Duties Supervise and coordinate nursing staff during the overnight shift, ensuring adherence to care plans and hospital policies. Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards. Provide clinical guidance on complex cases involving IV infusion, catheterization, ventilator management, and wound care. Ensure accurate medication administration, including injections and IV insertion, following aseptic techniques. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate discharge planning, utilization review, and case management. Maintain EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems accurately for all patient documentation. Monitor infection control practices and ensure compliance with safety protocols to prevent healthcare-associated infections. Lead staff training on new procedures or updates in medical terminology, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), and other clinical documentation standards. Manage patient flow during the shift by triaging urgent cases such as acute pain management or airway management needs. Support quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards and hospital accreditation requirements. Requirements Valid RN license with current registration; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Minimum of five years of nursing experience in diverse settings including ICU (Intensive Care Unit), ER (Emergency Room), or hospital medicine. Proven supervisory or nurse management experience supervising nursing teams during night shifts. Extensive knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner, Epic, or Athenahealth. Familiarity with complex medical procedures including spinal tap, cardiac catheterization, gastrostomy tube feeding, and sterile processing techniques. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to acute care and geriatrics. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities preferred. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations accurately. Excellent communication skills for effective team leadership and patient interactions. Knowledge of ICD-10 coding standards for diagnostic classification and utilization management processes.
