Job Description

Comact is a North American leader in the design and manufacturing of equipment for wood processing mills. The company primarily serves the North American market, in addition to serving international clients. Comact offers the most comprehensive range of products on the market. Producing everything from mechanical equipment, PLCs and optimization systems equipped with digital vision scanners. Our products also deliver fully automated production lines. The company has over 1500 employees working in our divisions located across North America. The Drafting Supervisor will report to the Drafting Team Manager. The individual will be responsible for coordinating projects, meeting deadlines, and training new team members.
Your Role:
What You'll Do We're looking for a strong, people-focused leader to guide our Drafting Department. This is a leadership and coordination role—not a drafter position—focused on planning, quality, structure, and team development. If you thrive on helping teams succeed, solving problems, and keeping work organized and on schedule, this opportunity is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and train other team members with company products and SolidWorks. Conduct quality checks to verify accuracy and compliance with company standards of your work and other team members. Lead teammates to resolve design questions—with little to no customer interaction Oversee revision control, ensuring updated drawings are always available Improve quality through better processes, standards, and communication. Balance workloads, anticipate bottlenecks, and help remove obstacles. Drive a positive, accountable, well-structured team environment.
What We're Looking For:
  • Strong natural leadership—even if you've never had a formal manager title.
  • Experience in a drafting/engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and planning skills.
  • Ability to set priorities, maintain structure, and uphold quality.
  • SolidWorks expertise (3+ years required)
Pay:
From $70,000.00 per year
