Job Description
My client is currently seeking an Assistant Shop Manager for a heavy commercial construction company. You will assist in daily facility operations, heavy equipment maintenance, and tool/material logistics. As an Assistant Shop Manager you will assist in maximizing operational efficiency, managing inventory, ensuring OSHA compliance, and supervising shop mechanics to minimize equipment downtime. - Supervise and assist with repairs, servicing, and preventative maintenance of a mixed fleet of heavy construction equipment (e.
- Manage the procurement, tracking, and organization of spare parts, consumables, and building materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory logs using operational efficiency software and ensure the physical shop and yard are kept clean and organized.
- Coordinate the safe loading/unloading and transfer of materials and heavy equipment to and from commercial job sites. Staff Leadership & Safety
- Help the Shop Manager schedule and delegate tasks to shop personnel, mechanics, and yard staff.
- Assist in training employees on proper tool usage, equipment operation, and company policies.
