This role is responsible for managing the CAD department, producing high-quality fabrication drawings, and ensuring projects are completed accurately and on schedule. The ideal candidate is both a hands-on designer and an effective leader who can guide and develop a small team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the CAD department, overseeing two draftsmen/designers Create, review, and approve detailed fabrication drawings and 3D models using Autodesk Inventor Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of all design outputs Collaborate closely with project managers to gather necessary details and translate concepts into manufacturable designs Design and model food processing equipment, including conveyors and related support equipment Prioritize and manage workload to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment Train, mentor, and develop team members to improve overall department capability Establish and maintain CAD standards, best practices, and workflows Communicate effectively across departments to ensure alignment between design, fabrication, and project execution
Qualifications:
Proven experience using Autodesk Inventor in a fabrication or manufacturing environment Previous leadership or supervisory experience managing designers or draftsmen Strong ability to read, create, and interpret fabrication drawings and technical specifications Excellent communication and time management skills Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously Detail-oriented with a high standard for accuracy and quality
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing food processing equipment or similar industrial systems Familiarity with fabrication processes and shop capabilities Experience implementing or improving CAD standards and workflows
Work Schedule :
Full-time position Occasional extended hours may be required to meet project deadlines
