Check) to keep dogs healthy and happy. We are expanding and opening a brand-new "Scenter" in South Denton, and we are looking for an entrepreneurial, high-energy leader to build our pack from the ground up!
Position Overview:
As the Scenter Manager, you will be the driving force behind the success of this brand-new location. Phase 1 (Pre-Opening & Launch): Your primary focus will be aggressive local membership sales (driving toward our corporate goal of 250+ Founding Memberships before launch) and assisting with talent acquisition. Phase 2 (Post-Opening & Ongoing Operations): Ultimately, you will have operational and P&L responsibility for the Scenter. You will oversee safety standards, client experiences, schedule utilization, inventory management, and the continuous coaching and career pathing of your team.
Initial Key Responsibilities:
Drive Membership Sales:
Execute local grassroots marketing, follow up on digital leads, and maximize pre-sales/Founding Member conversions.
Talent Acquisition:
Assist with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding a high-performing team consisting of professional Groomers (Trimmers), Front Desk Associates (Member Associates), and Bathers (Scent Techs).
Pre-Opening Readiness:
Facilitate the opening training plan to ensure all staff are certified and fluent in our safety and brand standards before Grand Opening day.
Ongoing Key Responsibilities:
Scenter Profitability & Growth:
Manage and optimize all Scenter Scorecard KPIs, including member retention, trial conversions, rebook rates, and service/product add-on sales. Safety & Compliance leadership: Maintain strict adherence to all Scenthound safety protocols. Conduct daily Scenter Safety Walkthroughs to ensure a double-barrier environment, proper tool handling, and accurate canine stress-response evaluation.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead engaging and impactful "Daily Huddles." Manage career progression pathways for your Front-of-Scenter (FoS) and Back-of-Scenter (BoS) teams using our structured skill maps.
Operations & Schedule Optimization:
Oversee daily schedule management in MyTime, handle payroll, review daily room checklists, audit cash handling, and manage pending membership cancellation or pause requests.
Customer Experience:
Act as the primary point of escalation for customer service issues, ensuring a reliable, trust-building environment for our dog parents.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Experience:
2-4 years of successful management experience in retail, fitness, hospitality, or service industries (membership-based sales models or pet-care industry experience is a major plus).
Sales Acumen:
Proven track record of hitting sales targets, overcoming objections, and executing local community outreach.
Leadership Skills:
Strong ability to recruit, motivate, and hold a diverse team accountable to performance and brand standards.
Dog Loving:
Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and breeds, and deeply committed to animal health and wellness.
Technical Savvy:
Proficiency in cloud-based booking software (MyTime experience is a plus), CRM lead-management tools, and basic dashboard metrics.
Operational Excellence:
Exceptionally organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing administrative tasks (scheduling, ordering, inventory) alongside hands-on floor leadership.

Requirements:
Experience & Professional Qualifications Management Experience:
2 to 4 years of successful management or supervisory experience in retail, fitness, hospitality, or service industries.
Sales Background:
Proven track record of hitting sales targets and executing local/grassroots community outreach (experience with membership-based business models is a major plus).
Recruiting & Leadership:
Demonstrated ability to source, interview, hire, and build a high-performing team from scratch.
Technical Savvy:
Proficiency in using cloud-based booking and point-of-sale software (such as MyTime) and CRM lead-management tools.
Business Operations:
Solid understanding of business dashboards, tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and driving overall store profitability.
Physical & Personal Requirements Dog Lover:
Must be completely comfortable handling and managing dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
Hands-on Approach:
Willingness to be present on the floor, stepping in to support both the front desk and bathing areas during high-volume periods.
Organization:
Exceptionally strong time-management skills with the ability to balance heavy administrative duties alongside active team leadership.
