POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations, team leadership, and Shop Owner management. This is a key leadership position on the store team — one that requires full confidence stepping in and running the store independently when the Store Manager is unavailable. The Assistant Store Manager is a trusted partner to leadership and a role model for the entire store team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Team Support
  • Support the Store Manager in recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing store team members.
  • Supervise the sales floor team during assigned shifts and ensure all team members are performing at their best.
  • Coach and provide real-time feedback to Sales Associates and Shift Leads to improve performance and customer service.
  • Lead by example in all areas including customer service, shop owner engagement,dress code, attitude, and adherence to company policy.
  • Manage opening and closing responsibilities in the Store Manager's absence.
  • Handle team scheduling support, break coordination, and daily task delegation as directed. Booth Rental & Shop Owner Support
  • Support the Store Manager in maintaining full booth occupancy by assisting with Shop Owner recruitment and screening.
  • Conduct booth inspections and ensure all Shop Owner spaces meet The Collective Boutiques brand and cleanliness standards.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with Shop Owners and serve as a point of contact for day-to-day questions and concerns.
  • Assist the Store Manager in monitoring booth rental payment schedules and identifying past-due accounts.
  • Support collection efforts for outstanding Shop Owner payments as directed, communicating professionally and documenting all interactions.
  • Escalate unresolved payment or Shop Owner conduct issues to the Store Manager promptly.
  • Maintain accurate booth-related records and assist with Shop Owner onboarding and offboarding processes. Sales & Customer Experience
  • Drive sales performance on the floor by coaching team members and personally engaging with customers.
  • Monitor daily sales metrics and communicate results and opportunities to the Store Manager.
  • Resolve escalated customer concerns with professionalism and a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure product displays, signage, and visual merchandising are maintained to brand standards at all times.
  • Support promotional setup, seasonal changeovers, and special events as needed. Operations & Compliance
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and inventory management procedures.
  • Complete daily operational reports and checklists as assigned.
  • Enforce all loss prevention, cash handling, and security policies.
  • Ensure the store is consistently clean, organized, and operating at the highest standard.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Report any safety concerns, maintenance issues, or policy violations to the Store Manager immediately.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 1-2 years of retail experience; prior supervisory or key holder experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and comfort directing a team.
  • Strong customer service skills and a genuine passion for the boutique retail experience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable assisting with payment collection and having professional financial conversations with Shop Owners.
  • Proficiency with POS systems and comfort with ADP or similar workforce management platforms.
  • Flexible availability including opening and closing shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
