Location:
Lewisville, Texas This is an on‑site leadership role responsible for driving pre‑opening performance, launching a new luxury pet boutique, and leading daily operations once doors open. The right candidate will help build this location from the ground up — shaping the brand experience, hiring and coaching the team, and setting the tone for a best‑in‑class pet retail destination. Pre‑Opening Responsibilities Lead all pre‑opening efforts including community outreach, local partnerships, and grassroots awareness to build excitement before launch. Help refine product mix and merchandising with ownership (treats, chews, accessories, bakery items, gifts) to match a luxury, boutique brand. Support vendor coordination, store build‑out, and setup (fixtures, merchandising plans, signage, opening inventory). Develop and execute a local launch plan : events, collaborations with vets/groomers/trainers, and neighborhood outreach. Build the initial store team (assistant manager and part‑time associates): recruiting, interviewing, and hiring. Create and document operating procedures for opening/closing, customer service standards, inventory handling, and cash management. Post‑Opening Responsibilities Own the store P&L at the unit level : drive top‑line sales while managing labor, COGS, and controllable expenses to hit monthly revenue and profit targets. Lead, coach, and schedule a small team (assistant manager + part‑time associates) to deliver a consistently exceptional guest experience . Oversee day‑to‑day operations: opening and closing, visual merchandising, inventory management, shipping/receiving, store cleanliness, and safety. Execute sales floor leadership : active selling, add‑on recommendations, upselling premium products, and coaching staff to increase average ticket. Implement and maintain customer loyalty and retention programs (events, birthday club, repeat‑buyer initiatives, and referrals). Manage local marketing activities : in‑store events, cross‑promotions with nearby businesses, social content support, and participation in community happenings. Monitor and report weekly KPIs (traffic, conversion rate, average transaction value, top SKUs, labor % of sales, and net income) to ownership. Ensure compliance with all company policies and any relevant local regulations. Foster a pet‑loving, service‑driven, and accountability‑focused culture for both team and customers. Requirements 3+ years of retail management experience (pet, specialty, boutique, or lifestyle retail strongly preferred). Demonstrated track record of hitting sales targets and managing profitability (labor scheduling, inventory turns, shrink control, and expense management). Experience opening a new location, leading a remodel, or managing a grand opening is a strong plus. Strong leadership skills with proven ability to hire, train, and develop a small, high‑performing team. Natural sales leader comfortable coaching others on selling, add‑ons, and customer experience. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and strong follow‑through. Comfortable working with POS systems, basic reporting, and Excel/Google Sheets . Genuine love for pets and enthusiasm for premium pet products and services. Flexible availability including some evenings, weekends, and key event days (grand opening, holidays, special events). Compensation & Incentives Base salary: approximately $55,000 - $60,000 per year (commensurate with experience). Performance bonuses tied to store profitability and growth , with upside as the business scales. Additional Year‑1 performance bonus opportunity for achieving clearly defined revenue and net income targets. Retention and growth incentives over time for building a strong, sustainable business.
