Essential Duties Promote friendly and helpful customer service and donor care. Responsible for maintaining store operations when manager and assistant manager are off duty. Operate the cash register, point of sale system, answer the telephone, process client gift certificates, process refunds, get change for registers, open and close register. Stock shelves and racks with processed merchandise. Always keep the store neat and clean. Unload and sort materials in the donation area. Assist with loading and unloading merchandise and equipment as needed. Demonstrate professionalism and presents a friendly, cooperative attitude towards customers and co-workers. Ability to multi-task, make quick decisions and work in a team oriented, fast paced environment. Must be punctual and have dependable attendance. Must conduct work in a safe manner; maintain good housekeeping standards, have all aisles and pathways to fire extinguishers, and exits clear from clutter. Always follow all policies and procedures. All other duties as instructed by the Manager. With reasonable accommodation, must have the ability to: Ability to respond to telephones, written correspondence, and other auditory and visual stimulation. Ability remain calm under stress and have the emotional and physical stamina to deal with a variety of stressful situations. At least 6 months customer service and/or cashier experience preferred. Frequently sit, stand, bend, kneel, and walk. Frequently lift and carry items up to 40 pounds. Occasionally climb stairs or inclined surfaces. Occasionally work outside during night hours and/or inclement weather.
