This role is responsible for driving sales, minimizing shrink, and maintaining a clean, organized department while leading the dairy team to execute company standards. Key Responsibilities Department Operations Oversee receiving, stocking, rotation, and inventory control for all dairy products Maintain proper cold chain management to ensure product freshness and quality Monitor inventory levels to reduce out-of-stocks and shrink Ensure backroom and cooler organization for efficient product flow Customer Service & Sales Provide excellent customer service and assist with product inquiries Maintain full, faced, and shop-ready dairy cases Execute pricing, signage, and promotional displays accurately Team Leadership & Development Train, coach, and supervise dairy clerks Assign daily tasks and ensure productivity standards are met Reinforce company expectations, safety, and performance standards Promote a positive, accountable team environment Merchandising & Standards Ensure proper product rotation (FIFO) and removal of outdated or damaged items Maintain clean, organized dairy cases and storage areas Execute planograms and seasonal merchandising changes Food Safety & Compliance Monitor refrigeration temperatures and ensure food safety compliance Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards Report and address any equipment or safety concerns promptly Operational & Financial Support Assist with inventory counts, ordering accuracy, and shrink control Track department performance including sales and labor Support efficient labor usage to meet productivity goals Qualifications Previous dairy, grocery, or retail experience preferred Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills Knowledge of perishable product handling and rotation Ability to work in a cold, fast-paced environment Basic math and computer skills Flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, and holidays Key Competencies Product Rotation & Freshness Attention to Detail Leadership & Team Development Time Management Operational Execution Customer Focus Work Environment Refrigerated environment with extended cold exposure Frequent lifting, stocking, and bending (40-60 lbs) Fast-paced, physically demanding retail setting
Pay Transparency:
Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay
