Job Description
Randolph-Macon College seeks a customer-focused and highly organized Campus Store Manager to oversee all aspects of Campus Store operations in support of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and visitors. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Finance, the Campus Store Manager is responsible for retail operations, textbook and course materials coordination, merchandising, marketing, budgeting, customer service, and supervision of full-time and student employees.
Oversees POS systems, store operations, purchasing, shipping/receiving, and customer service standards.
Oversees operation of the virtual textbook store and coordinates textbook adoption, ordering, and distribution processes.
Maintains internal controls, financial records, and security of store assets.
Develops social media content to promote new merchandise and Campus Store events. Collaborates with Marketing and Communications to ensure consistency with College branding and communication standards.
Supervises full-time employees and supports achievement of financial objectives.
Coordinates with campus departments and external vendors for special events and merchandise sales.
Maintains positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, visitors, and vendors.
Negotiates contracts with vendors and partners on behalf of the Campus Store.
Stays current on industry standards and innovations in merchandise, public relations, store operations, reporting, and information systems.
Performs other duties as assigned by the
Strong understanding of customer service principles with a commitment to delivering exceptional service. Excellent organizational, leadership, and motivational skills. Flexibility, sound judgment, and the ability to effectively resolve problems and manage challenging situations. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to promote the Campus Store as an integral part of the College community and mission. Knowledge of purchasing, pricing, budgeting, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate financial and sales records. Proficiency in basic computer applications, including word processing, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with POS systems; familiarity with MBS/Insite systems preferred. Ability to remain composed and effective in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
Standard work schedule is 37.5 hours per week, with additional hours required during high-demand periods to include nights and weekends.

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 35 years of experience in campus store management or a comparable retail environment required.Strong understanding of customer service principles with a commitment to delivering exceptional service. Excellent organizational, leadership, and motivational skills. Flexibility, sound judgment, and the ability to effectively resolve problems and manage challenging situations. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to promote the Campus Store as an integral part of the College community and mission.
