Full Job Description Summary:

The Assistant Manager will accurately adhere to HKWH ReStore's policies and procedures by maintaining excellent customer service, merchandising, POS handling, and directing of others. They will be knowledgeable and approachable by staff, volunteers, donors, and customers, and consistently and accurately communicate with the Manager and Senior Assistant Manager. Candidates with experience working in hardware, thrift, or non-profit environments will be particularly competitive.

Duties:

• Maintain general knowledge of merchandise in store
• Be knowledgeable in technology platforms used in store
• Maintain an organized and clean checkout area
• Open and/or close the store and till
• Direct staff and volunteers to tasks and projects
• Educate donors and customers on policies and mission
• Have masterful knowledge and solutions to typical issues of POS system
• Accurately record volunteer schedule
• Assist in monthly inventory
• Map weekly pickup schedule for drivers
• Keep manager apprised of financial and pricing discrepancies
• Lead with positivity, keeping in mind the mission and culture of Habitat for Humanity
• Diplomatically diffuse difficult conversations with customers and donors as needed
• Assist in social media posts as needed

Lead Assistant Manager and Manager Requirements:

Must pass background and credit check At least 3 years of retail experience Must be available at least two Saturdays per month Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand and walk extended periods of time without break.
