Position Summary:
The Shop Supervisor position oversees entire manufacturing process and ensure the assembly process adheres to policies and procedures. Also works with other personnel to find cost effective and quality materials used in the process, constantly looking for ways to cut costs and streamline processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities Planning and scheduling production activities and supervising the production process. Monitoring the production practices and setting the schedules as required. Assigns duties to shop workers. Working with managers effectively to execute the policies and goals of the organization. Keeping abreast of safety strategies. Verifies accuracy of bill of materials and adjusts work orders according to what was actually used. Reviews work completed to ensure it is up to quality standards. Selecting and maintaining equipment, supervising product standards and enforcing quality-control programs. Ensures that shop area is clean, organized, and free of dangerous or hazardous material. Maintains control of inventory.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) 2 years' experience of management/supervision.
