Job Description

Recently honored as a "Best Place to Work in Manufacturing," we're seeking a hands-on Shop Supervisor to oversee operations and a tight-knit team of about 15 employees at our new, 43,000 square foot facility in Franklin, Wisconsin (our 3rd facility nationwide). The purpose of this role is to provide mid-level guidance and support for the entire shop in the areas of safety, quality, training, process improvement, and all other aspects of the manufacturing process. Primary Job Functions Work with factory employees to meet assigned production goals and hold them accountable to goals Ensure that all factory personnel have the resources and tools to properly perform their job duties Ensure that all product is shipped on time with zero quality defects Work with the Production Manager to ensure that all orders are scheduled to meet promised shipment dates Ensure that factory waste is continually reduced to minimum effective levels Manage internal stock and consumables to make sure we have enough supply to keep up with the demand Ensure that factory employees are always clocked on a job Communicate scrap/rework nonconformances with Production Manager Maintain and approve employees' hours and PTO requests with Production Manager Conduct annual performance reviews Maintain a clean and safe workplace at all times Additional Job Functions Work directly with factory employees and other levels of management on continuous improvement Analyze material and personnel flow within the factory and make corresponding changes to enhance efficiency, increase production volume, and reduce cost Required Skills Relationship building Excellent communication skills Exceptional organization Customer service focus Ability to work quickly and accurately Ability to work & communicate as part of a team to achieve 100% customer satisfaction Problem solving ability Adaptability to a constantly changing work environment Experience Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment and supervisory or managerial position Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Associates degree or higher in applicable skilled trade is a plus Required Testing Aptitude testing Personality testing Certifications Forklift certification and train-the-trainer certification Overhead crane safety and competent person training Fall protection safety and competent person training Minimum of OSHA 10-hr or higher certification First AID/CPR training Physical Requirements The position requires frequent walking, material handling, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Work Environment The primary workplace is a factory environment. The secondary workplace is cubicle desk located on the second floor of our receiving office.
