Job Description

Summer Staff Supervisor Couple Position Summary The Summer Staff Supervisor Couple plays a vital role in creating a healthy, Christ-centered environment for our summer staff team. This couple will provide spiritual leadership, mentorship, encouragement, accountability, and practical support to college-aged summer staff throughout the summer season. They will serve as "house parents" within the summer staff housing environment while also assisting camp leadership with camper discipline situations and logistical needs related to late arrivals and early camper departures. The ideal couple models Christian maturity, hospitality, servant leadership, and a heart for discipleship. Primary Responsibilities 1. Summer Staff Discipleship & Mentorship Build intentional relationships with summer staff members. Provide spiritual encouragement, mentorship, and pastoral care throughout the summer. Lead or facilitate regular devotions, prayer times, small groups, or discipleship conversations. Foster a Christ-centered culture among the staff team. Encourage healthy conflict resolution, accountability, and personal growth. Be available to support staff members during challenging or emotionally difficult situations. 2. Summer Staff Housing Supervision ("House Parents") Serve as the primary adult presence within the summer staff housing environment. Help maintain a safe, respectful, and healthy living atmosphere. Enforce camp housing policies and expectations with grace and consistency. Monitor curfew and evening routines as established by camp leadership. Support staff in maintaining cleanliness and responsibility within shared living spaces. Create an atmosphere of hospitality, encouragement, and community. 3. Camper Care & Discipline Support Assist program leadership with camper discipline situations as needed. Help care for campers who may need time away from activities for behavioral or emotional reasons. Communicate with camp leadership regarding significant camper concerns. Model patience, wisdom, and compassion in all camper interactions. Support a safe and positive camp environment for all campers. 4. Camp Logistics Support Coordinate and assist with late camper arrivals and early camper pickups. Help ensure proper camper check-in/check-out procedures are followed. Communicate clearly with parents, guardians, and camp leadership regarding camper transitions. Be available during key arrival and departure windows throughout the week. Qualifications A growing and active Christian faith consistent with the mission and values of the camp. Strong relational and interpersonal skills. Experience working with college-aged students, young adults, or camp ministry preferred. Ability to lead with both grace and accountability. Organized, dependable, and flexible in a fast-paced camp environment. Comfortable handling sensitive situations with discretion and maturity. Ability to work collaboratively with camp leadership and program staff. Married Expectations Live on-site for the duration of the summer programs Participate in staff training and key camp activities. Maintain professional, Christ-like conduct in all interactions. Support and uphold all camp policies, procedures, and standards.
