Job Description

Job Description The Assistant Store Director will be responsible for supporting the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations, including customer service, staff management, inventory control, merchandising, and maintaining a clean and safe environment, while ensuring adherence to company standards and policies, often acting as the "Manager on Duty" in the absence of the Store Manager, providing leadership and direction to the team to achieve sales and operational goals.
Duties & Responsibilities Customer Service:
Model "best in class" customer service by actively engaging with customers, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Monitor customer feedback and address concerns promptly.
Staff Management:
Assist in hiring, training, and developing store associates. Create and manage employee schedules based on staffing needs. Provide coaching and performance feedback to team members. Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts.
Operations Management:
Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures. Monitor inventory levels, ordering merchandise as needed. Ensure proper product rotation and stock levels on shelves. Manage department operations, delegating tasks and responsibilities.
Financial Performance:
Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue. Track labor costs and ensure efficient staffing levels. Manage expenses and identify areas for cost reduction.
Merchandising:
Implement merchandising strategies, creating attractive displays and promotions. Monitor product quality and freshness.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure adherence to all company policies, safety regulations, and food handling standards. Maintain a clean and organized store environment. Address safety concerns and investigate incidents. Required Qualifications Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Excellent customer service skills Prior retail experience, preferably in a grocery setting Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems Strong organizational and time management skills
