Assistant Manager — Rocky Mountain Sports | Cody, Wyoming Rocky Mountain Sports is Cody's destination for hunting, fishing, camping, firearms, and outdoor living gear. We're passionate about helping locals and visitors enjoy the outdoors with confidence by providing exceptional customer service and expert product knowledge. Whether a customer is preparing for a backcountry hunt, a weekend camping trip, or a day on the water, our goal is to ensure they leave properly equipped and ready for the outdoors. Position Summary We are seeking an Assistant Manager to help lead daily store operations, support team development, and deliver an outstanding customer experience. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leadership, thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, and has a strong passion for the outdoors. A primary focus of this position will be overseeing the firearms department, so extensive firearms knowledge, safe handling practices, and familiarity with related products are essential. The Assistant Manager will work closely with store leadership to maintain operational excellence, uphold merchandising standards, assist with inventory management and ordering, and ensure customers receive knowledgeable, friendly service every time they visit. Responsibilities Support daily retail operations, including opening and closing procedures Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service Assist with hiring, training, and coaching team members Comply with ATF regulations Oversee and support firearms department operations and customer assistance Help keep the team organized, productive, and on task throughout the day Maintain organized, clean, and visually appealing sales floors and displays Assist with inventory ordering, receiving, and stocking Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently Ensure store cleanliness and operational standards are consistently maintained Assist in achieving sales goals and overall store performance Stay informed on outdoor products, firearms, brands, and seasonal industry trends Build relationships with sales reps and bring in new products to keep up with industry trends.
