Founded in 1960, Berkeley Preparatory School is an independent, co-educational, Episcopal college preparatory school with a current enrollment of 1,460 students in grades Pre-K through 12. Part-time Treasure Cove Sales Assistant The Treasure Cove Spirit Shop is a vibrant campus store that is open to the Berkeley community each school day. The shop offers Berkeley branded apparel and gifts, as well as school supplies and snacks. The Treasure Cove also operates an e-commerce site and develops custom orders for multiple clubs and departments within the school. As a supporting member of Berkeley's Spirit Shop reporting to the Treasure Cove Manager, the Part-time Sales Assistant will join the bustling atmosphere of the store and will assist with merchandising, billing, and guest interactions. This position is for 20-24 weekly hours and will operate on the school's academic calendar. Berkeley has a broad customer base, ranging from young students to board members, busy parents, and faculty. The successful candidate will be flexible, eager to learn, creative, and engaged. Knowing our students, parents, and Berkeley community members is essential. The ideal candidate will be a customer-focused, self-motivated, and positive individual. Retail sales experience is preferred, but not mandatory. The duties and responsibilities outlined below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform this job.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Restocking merchandise and snacks within store Ordering, receiving, and tagging prices on merchandise Processing in store and online orders Answering customers' questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise Assisting with the designing of artwork and products for custom orders Operating a heat-press for vinyl transfers Performing physical inventories Troubleshooting and resolving concerns with students' snack and school accounts Keeping all areas clean and orderly Closing the store securely at the end of the day Other duties as assigned by the
Treasure Cove Manager Minimum Qualifications:
Customer service experience High school diploma or G.E.D. Ability to read and interpret documents such as a departmental manual Ability to speak politely and effectively with colleagues, students and guests Ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision under stressful conditions Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of Lightspeed, 365 Retail Markets and Cadworx, a plus
Compensation and Benefits:
