Job Description

Our Wine Sales Assistants are responsible to support sales, customer service, and product distribution objectives. This position represents Nappi to provide premier customer service to internal and external customers for the Wine Division. Responsibilities Support customer service and sales initiatives to increase market-share of Nappi products. Provide back-up route coverage to Sales Representatives and Merchandisers for planned/unplanned absences and peak volume periods. Proactively communicate and coordinate daily/weekly assignments with other Sales Assistants to maximize efficiency and eliminate redundant travel and/or efforts. Assist to timely order, deliver, stock, and merchandise small quantity and/or missed wine orders and POS items. Assist with planograms, cooler, shelf resets and displays at retail accounts to support supplier promotions and incentive programs. Assist with training needs of Merchandisers and other Sales Assistants. Support promotion of all Nappi products/service opportunities. Assist and support special events including tastings, trade shows, wait staff events, and other promotional and informational events. Conduct regular audits of retail accounts as assigned to verify merchandising and display quality/ quantity, POS visibility and effectiveness, pricing accuracy, product position, vintages, and adherence to overall standards including back-stock organization. Reports results to Supervisor. Proactively communicate competitor initiatives and activities to Supervisor. Suggest ideas for enhancements for internal/external customer service effectiveness and efficiencies; implements as directed by Supervisor. Develop and maintain solid relationships with customers to provide quality back-up support to Sales Representatives and Merchandisers. Represent Nappi Distributors by conducting all activity and interaction with customers in a professional, positive, service-oriented manner. Adhere to Nappi and customer specific safety guidelines/requirements, including proper body mechanics. Demonstrate ability to exercise sound judgement when faced with safety issues. Present self with integrity, professionalism and commitment to Nappi Distributors' customer service, quality, and adherence to State/Federal regulations. Adherence to all Nappi policies, guidelines, requirements, including accurate recording of work time, is required. Experience/Skills Valid Maine driver's license and safe driving record; must be maintained for this position and for company vehicle assignment. Previous experience within beverage industry is preferred. Knowledge of wine varietals and processes plus a commitment towards continuous development of technical knowledge is required. Excellent customer service aptitude; ability to maintain positive interactions with individuals at all levels of an organization. Solid business math skills. Solid computer/tablet knowledge; familiarity with multiple software applications and Apple products. Strong time-management, organizational, and prioritization skills are required. Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and contribute as part of a team. Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting ability. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. Acceptance of constructive developmental feedback and willingness to modify approach. Flexibility to adjust and extend work schedule when requested to respond to internal/external customer needs and conduct training and promotional sessions during non-business hours, including extra days and weekends, on occasion. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast paced work environment. Professional appearance and approach.
