The Opportunity We are seeking a high impact Pre-Sales Solution Engineer to provide technical leadership in the creation and delivery of customer solutions aligned to business outcomes. This role serves as the primary technical authority in active deal cycles and delivers the deepest level of product and solution expertise available to customers throughout the sales process. This is a customer facing, revenue aligned role that is core to IMPEX's go to market motion. You will partner directly with Account Executives to build trust, shape strategy, qualify opportunities, and close complex infrastructure and cloud deals through technical credibility and execution. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary technical authority supporting active sales pursuits in partnership with Account Executives Lead technical discovery and opportunity qualification, translating business needs into solution requirements and deal strategy Design, present, and demonstrate scalable architectures across infrastructure, cloud, DRaaS, security, and networking Develop technical architectures and detailed Bills of Materials for proposed solutions utilizing Dell, Nutanix, VMware, and Cisco Provide deep product and solution expertise aligned to IMPEX partner technologies Build and support all technical components of proposals, RFPs, and RFQs Own proofs of concept and technical evaluations through successful technical closure Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure accurate scoping and a clean handoff from presales to implementation Educate and enable sales teams on product positioning, competitive differentiation, and solution strategy Identify expansion opportunities and technical growth paths within active accounts Contribute to technical pipeline forecasting and deal strategy reviews with sales leadership Support pipeline generation through events, webinars, partner sessions, and executive briefings Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience Minimum 5+years in pre sales, solutions engineering, consulting, or customer facing technical architecture roles Strong background in data center infrastructure including compute, storage, virtualization, networking, backup, and disaster recovery Hands on architecture experience with Nutanix AOS and or Dell PowerEdge VxRail Expert level knowledge of VMware vSphere, vSAN, and NSX Solid understanding of Cisco data center networking including Catalyst, Nexus, and UCS Working knowledge of AWS and hybrid cloud architectures Ability to translate business requirements into technical architecture and solution strategy Executive level communication and whiteboarding skills Ability to manage multiple active deal cycles Disciplined documentation and technical scope control Working knowledge of Salesforce or enterprise CRM platforms Demonstrated ownership mentality with a relentless work ethic and full accountability for outcomes Proven coachability with the ability to absorb feedback and implement it rapidly Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure situations Preferred Qualifications Cloud platform experience in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Backup and disaster recovery architecture experience Vendor certifications from Cisco, Dell, NetApp, Nutanix, VMware, AWS, etc.. Experience in VAR, MSP, or enterprise consulting environments
Location & Travel Location:
El Segundo, CA (Office-based with client visits).
Travel:
Local travel within the Southern California region (primarily Los Angeles and Orange Counties) is required, estimated at 50% Compensation & Incentives $130,000 - $180,000 per year
