Job Description

Location :United States Experience Level:Mid-Senior level Employment Type:Full-time Power Monitoring and Diagnostic Technology (PMDT), headquartered in San Jose, California, is seeking a results-driven Regional Technical Sales Engineer to lead sales growth of our high-voltage diagnostics solutions. This is a sales-first role (70% sales focus) — use your technical expertise to win major utility contracts and exceed revenue targets. Key Responsibilities (70% Sales / 30% Technical): Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities; build and manage a strong sales pipeline to hit quarterly and annual revenue targets. Prepare compelling technical proposals, quotations, bid responses, and tender documents; negotiate and close contracts. Deliver high-impact sales presentations, product demos, and ROI discussions with decision-makers at utilities and industrial accounts. Build long-term relationships with key accounts (utilities, data centers, renewables, EPCs) and expand business through upselling. Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, and Production teams to create winning solutions.
Provide sales-enabling technical support:
occasional product demonstrations and training (minimal heavy testing). Track activities in CRM and deliver accurate sales forecasts.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or related field. 5-8 years of proven technical sales experience in high-voltage equipment or power diagnostics (must have met/exceeded sales quotas). Strong knowledge of GIS, Transformers, Switchgear, and Cables. Excellent presentation, negotiation, proposal-writing, and closing skills. Familiarity with
IEC 60270 / IEEE
standards and Partial Discharge is a big plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM (Salesforce preferred). Must be authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship). Valid US driver's license.
