Job Description

Project Engineering Build and develop product knowledge and understanding of Mayser applications. Support senior engineers as a technical point of contact for customer inquiries. Work closely with sales to understand and coordinate customer requirements including key milestone dates. Listen, understand and convey customer requirements. Arrange, assist and attend customer design meetings. Facilitate in bringing the technical voice of the customer into Mayser. Function as the technical liaison between customer engineering and Mayser development/engineering. Maintain accurate records of target account projects, knowledge and correspondence in company approved databases. Schedule, monitor and support with sample and/or proof of concept per customer's specifications. Coordinate and support customer requests for CAD design work with Mayser design/engineering in Ulm, Germany and/or external partners. Assist in scheduling and attending meetings to support communications between the customer, Mayser USA, and Mayser Ulm teams. Assist in creating and tracking project timelines under the guidance of the Lead Project Engineer. Communicate and coordinate on all aspects of project launches and any process or engineering changes. Assist in completing and maintaining launch management forms. Assist project management Ulm in all program related functions and activities. Assist in APQP meetings and/or APQP process. Support team efforts to meet customer expectations and program requirements. Process engineering Assure manufacturability of designs. Support the development and monitoring of manufacturing processes and workflows for different product types. Support new equipment development, product launches, and supplier meetings. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Learn and support manufacturing process evaluation by studying product requirements and assisting with research, testing, and documentation of manufacturing methods and equipment. Provide input in the creation of PFMEA for existing and future processes which contribute toward reduction of Occurrences. Assist in preparing product and process reports by collecting and summarizing information and trends. Lab support Prepare customer requests for testing, coordinate tests, and evaluate final results. Coordination of internal and external testing resources e.g. via weekly meetings. Support (product) testing of Mayser systems in customer vehicles and report findings and meeting minutes for future documentation. Work with program management, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve
PRE-LAUNCH
quality issues and provide technical support to Quality Assurance Department where necessary. Assist in identifying and documenting test equipment requirements for new programs and projects. Proficiently use all Mayser USA laboratory equipment as related to Quality (Zwick, 3D Scanner, Climate Chamber, etc) for PRE-LAUNCH and/or change management testing. Develop and/or assist developing and formalizing standard work guidelines and instructions for laboratory equipment. Schedule, perform and document annual validation and CC-testing for validation by Quality Assurance Department. Sales Support Support the customer and new business/customer development. Participate in the RFQ process. Prepare and support customer presentations and product demonstrations as required. Assist in providing technical and product field training to the Mayser sales team, and key decision-makers at targeted accounts.
Other responsibilities:
Assist in adhering to Environmental responsibilities according to
ISO14001.
Any other task pertaining to the job as may be assigned by Management.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent 1-2 years of related work experience dealing with electrical engineering Academic coursework and/or working experience related to automotive systems, electronics, or sensor technologies Foundational understanding of electronic components, circuits, and embedded or electro-mechanical systems Exposure to automotive engineering concepts such as APQP, product development cycles, and design-to-launch processes through coursework, projects, or working experience Experience with CAD and PLM tools (such as CATIA, NX, TeamCenter, or equivalent) Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical information Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills through lab work, senior design projects, or working experience Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and follow direction with limited supervision Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented attitude Familiarity with customer-focused or cross-functional teamwork environments through team projects Willingness to travel to customer or supplier locations as required; some overseas travel may be required

Additional knowledge of thermoplastics and manufacturing processes
