(RPM) is a Nevada based company that specializes in pump and motor sales and service. As a wholesale distributor and service company, we serve over 400 clients in Nevada and Northern Arizona which include commercial, municipal and industrial accounts. Our client list includes major casinos, universities, hospitals and government agencies. Reliable Pump has built an outstanding reputation throughout the industry and strives each day to uphold that reputation. We constantly work towards providing the highest quality products and services to our customer base. RPM is currently seeking an experienced Field Sales Engineer, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background to join our dynamic sales team. Successful candidate must be comfortable working with engineers, contractors and end users to promote RPM's products and service capabilities. The Field Sales Engineer will be responsible for achieving sales goals within the assigned territory by focusing on the management of existing customers, identify and develop new opportunities and prospective customers and build strong relationships with our clients and vendor partners.
Responsibilities:
  • Achieve sales objectives while providing accurate forecasting.
  • Identify new product applications at existing and new customers.
  • Prepare and deliver on-site presentations and written proposals.
  • Work with Inside Sales to generate professional proposals in a timely manner and provide follow up as necessary.
  • Assess the technical challenges the customer is trying to achieve or overcome.
  • Ask questions to develop understanding and gain credibility to achieve bid opportunities, present solutions, and gain commitments from the customer.
  • Continually refine technical knowledge of RPM's products and service capabilities.
  • Act as a technical resource for the following: Wastewater Pumps and Systems, Ground/Storm Water Pumps and Systems, Booster Pump Systems, Variable Speed Drives and Motors.
  • Provide post sale follow up and support as required.
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information pertaining to pricing, products and sales techniques.
  • Complete effective and timely sales call reporting to aid in market analysis and pricing strategies.
  • Represent Company at trade shows and conferences as applicable.
  • Travel within territory as required to meet or exceed sales objectives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5+ years of proven, industry sales experience including outside/field sales experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred but our focus is on industry knowledge and experience.
  • Must have industry knowledge of pumps, complete pump systems, electric motors, rotating equipment and electrical/electronic control systems.
  • Exceptional business development and customer relationship skills.
  • Superior oral and written communication.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Proficient computer skills. Microsoft Office 365, QuickBooks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50LBS and able to occasionally visit jobsites requiring personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Minimal travel required, up to 25%.
  • Current driver's license required with clean driving record.
  • Background check required.
Compensation:
  • Salary determined based on level of experience.
  • A base salary plus commission program is offered for this position.
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance plans are offered after 60 day probationary period.

  • Vehicle allowance or company vehicle provided based on employee preference.
