This Sales Engineer role is your opportunity to join a globally recognized manufacturer specializing in DC switchgear, power conversion systems, and traction power solutions for the rail industry. This dynamic role is a blend of 70% technical estimating and 30% customer-facing sales , making it ideal for those who excel at both problem-solving and building relationships.
Main tasks:
Technical Estimating & Solutions Development :
Prepare technical estimates, quotations, and solutions for traction power substation and electrified rail applications.
Customer Collaboration :
Engage directly with clients to deliver tailored solutions and presentations while maintaining long-term relationships.
Product Expertise :
Provide support on DC and AC products, including: DC switchgear, high-speed breakers, and panels Rectifiers, power converters, and voltage limiting devices Multi-function protection relays and custom electro-mechanical solutions
Sales Strategy :
Develop a strategic business plan to build a robust pipeline, identify opportunities, and achieve annual sales goals.
Financial Analysis :
Model financial business cases to ensure profitability and competitiveness.
Competitive Intelligence :
Lead responses for RFPs/RFIs and stay informed on market trends.
Representation & Networking :
Attend trade associations, conferences, and client events to represent the company and educate stakeholders on product advancements. Requirements Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering preferred; Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical experience will also be considered. Sales Engineer, Project Manager, or technical sales background with custom electro-mechanical solutions. Prior experience in power distribution, switchgear manufacturing, or similar roles (3+ years preferred) Familiarity with DC and AC power systems (Low Voltage and Medium Voltage). Strong communication and presentation abilities. Excellent Excel and MS Office Suite (Office 365) proficiency. Self-motivated, team-oriented, and adaptable in complex technical environments. Ability to analyze technical requirements and create clear, accurate solutions. Comfortable working in a collaborative, international team setting.
