Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
At Five Star Products, our Engineering Specialist plays a pivotal role in shaping how our solutions are adopted in the marketplace. This position is responsible for building strong relationships with top engineering and architectural firms, influencing specifications, and positioning Five Star as the preferred choice in projects. The role blends technical expertise with sales and business development—delivering seminars, collaborating with sales and marketing, and engaging in industry organizations. Ideal candidates will be passionate about engineering innovation, eager to stay ahead of construction trends, and motivated to make a direct impact on the success of high-profile projects across key industries and the continued evolution of the engineering function at Five Star.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Work cooperatively with sales team & resources to identify and close opportunities.
  • Develop strong relationships in key markets as well as identify key projects, project timing and field personnel in key facilities, for both new and existing facilities.
  • Develop strong relationships with the top national and regional engineering firms to influence the writing of specifications to include FSP.
  • Collaborate across teams: Work with marketing and sales to create materials that showcase product benefits and reinforce brand leadership.
  • Build industry relationships: Network with architectural and engineering firms (A/E) and participate in industry organizations like ACI and ASTM.
  • Develop and conduct technical/engineering seminars for engineering and architectural firms, contractors and corporate facility managers.
  • Influence or modify project specifications to include and feature all applicable Five Star Products as a preferred product in the correct CSI divisional format.
  • Assist with "Field Service" on projects, material training, and other technical matters of concern as needed.
  • Assist with development of new products. Perform field tests as requested and garner contractor cooperation. I.e. Field Engineers & on-site quality control
  • Respond to requests for technical service in a timely fashion.
  • Prepare all requested paperwork in a timely manner, which includes project tracking, weekly or monthly reports, and all other documents requested by manager.
  • Stay current on industry trends: Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on new construction trends, standards, and regulations.
  • Research for function optimization: Collaborate with engineering contacts to identify unique, value-adding approaches to the engineering community, differentiating Five Star as a preferred partner.

    Education:
    A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field is often preferred.
      Experience:
      A minimum of five years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on concrete design and technologies, is generally required.
        Licensing:
        A Professional Engineer (PE) license is often preferred.
          Travel:
          The role typically requires some travel to visit clients, project sites, and industry events up to 40% Skills and competencies:

          $85,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
