Job Description

Sales Engineer•Industrial Automation Remote | Western U.S. Role Overview We are seeking a high‑performing sales professional with a strong background in industrial automation specific to Honeywell and Emerson products to drive growth across Oil, Gas, Water, and critical infrastructure clients. This role focuses on developing new opportunities, leading complex solution sales, and consistently exceeding revenue targets. You will engage both executive leadership and technical teams, identifying operational challenges and positioning automation, controls, and data‑driven solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes. The role requires a blend of technical fluency, business acumen, and a proven ability to close high‑value projects. Key Responsibilities Identify and develop new business opportunities for automation, controls, and digital solutions Lead consultative sales engagements from discovery through contract close Build and manage a strong, active pipeline with accurate forecasting Drive full sales lifecycle including solution positioning, deal strategy, and contract negotiation Collaborate closely with engineering and delivery teams to align technical solutions with client needs Build long‑term client relationships and expand accounts through repeat and follow‑on work Stay current on industry trends including Industry 4.0, digital transformation, and smart manufacturing Required Experience 7+ years of experience selling complex industrial automation, controls integration, or digital solutions Demonstrated success exceeding quota, with annual sales performance in the multimillion‑dollar range Strong understanding of industrial technologies such as PLC, DCS, SCADA, MES, and OT networks Ability to communicate effectively with both executive stakeholders and technical teams Proven ability to operate independently in a remote, territory‑based role Specific Technical Experience Desired Hands‑on exposure to major control platforms including: Emerson systems Honeywell Experion Allen‑Bradley (Rockwell Automation) Siemens automation platforms Candidate Profile Strong business development mindset with the ability to identify and create opportunities Highly driven, competitive, and results‑oriented Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, growth environment Strong relationship builder with excellent communication skills Able to travel approximately 50% as needed for client engagement Compensation Competitive salary with flexible compensation based on candidate experience and performance history $150,000•$250,000 Uncapped commission structure with strong earning potential Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Business Development Manager
